BACKGROUND

The Composition Band was founded in 2019 by A disabled (Partially sighted) passionate young entrepreneur ,  Mhlengi Nkonzo Mlotshwa(On the Left Picture, and  video clip below). He is the Manager and Pianist of the band and his stage name is MR Pentatonic. The band originates in South Africa, Kwa Zulu Natal Province in A small local area called Ndwedwe

BAND FORMATION

The founder of the band, planned ahead before it was formed.  Rather than just being A pianist, he started looking deeper in music. He attended more and different music workshops collecting music business information, He attended A Music production course wanting to understand the sound engineering side of music. The founder also completed A leadership course at DUT to cover leadership skills as the leader of the new coming band. Lastly before he implemented the band, he completed A band Mentorship programme at Bat Centre finalizing mastering his knowledge based on how to run and manage a successful music band. The Journey for the formation of the band took 6 years from 2016 to 2018. It was then formed towards the end of 2019 with 2 members, The founder as the Pianist and A vocalist of the band by the name, Seluleko Zulu( Standing with the founder on the below picture). 

PREVIOUS WORKS:

The band released it’s first single in 2019 after it was formed. The song titled, Love Prayer by the band was composed by the founder Mhlengi Nkonzo Mlotshwa and sung by Seluleko Zulu as the recording artist and the first artist to join the band as it was formed. The released song was done to introduce the new band around social media. The song was released in all digital music stores and started trending. The song has hit plus 10K streams on Spotify, Plus 1K views on youtube and with this song the band still gain more fans and listeners on social media on daily basis. The Composition Band haven’t performed by this time due to COVID 19 lockdown regulations.

                                                                                 

BAND'S DEVELOPMENT:

Due to COVID 19 Lockdown the band has got stuck and couldn’t work. However as soon as the lockdown levels lowered the band started it's rehearsals and with new members who recently joined the band in 2020. The band started compiling it's raptor, playing cover songs by existing musicians and mixing with it's own compositions.
